I'm looking for some quality sample sets that run on the Free Version. I have the Haverhill sample set and I love that one. I'm thinking about actually buying one of their sets since their Mini version will run on the Free Edition. I have tried a couple others off the internet but quite frankly they sometimes sound like a pipe organ that hasn't been tuned in a long time. The one I tested out tonight you can't even read the stops and it had no combo pistons. The Haverhill does both of those well.
I downloaded the Hereford eval and will be testing that out. I don't mind paying $150 for a sample set but being just retired I cannot afford even the $249 for the Regular Version of Hauptwerk.
Are there others out there in the category of the Haverhill etc.? I'm not interested in the not for prime time ones.

Oh yes that Silbermann sounded good. I was playing and it was cutting out then I remembered it does that on the trial run. No problem, I transcribe music into the computer without hearing it. The only thing I wish it had was a strong reed on one of the manuals. The Posaunenbass 16´ was outstanding. I liked the reverb time. When they're too long they muddle up the sound in very fast passages.

I'm really loving the Silbermann. I'm just going to have to buy it. The dropping out is more annoying than I thought. I can hardly go back to my eval Haverhill even though it's excellent.
