Behringer fcb 1010

PostSun Sep 27, 2009 3:09 pm

Trying to configure my footpedal into Hauptwerk Free edition.
I do have midi signals on a small program called: midi monitor, but can't get it into Hw.
Has anybody the answer?
Thx in advance, Cees.

Hello,

You can find at http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3170 a series of explanations about configuring Hauptwerk to use "continuous controllers" such as swell pedals and "switch midi inputs" such as (foot) pistons.

Hopefully this will put you on the right track to get your Behringer fcb 1010 and Hauptwerk working together.

All the best.

Hello Kees ...

I use the Behringer FCB1010 and it works perfectly. If you give me a few hours, I will come back here with my settings. It does work absolutely properly. See my posts on the Hauptwerk Instruments forum, and also see my music website (address below). There are also some Youtube videos under my name of "kaspenceruk".

Kees,

I have received alot of enquiries about how to configure the FCB1010 to work with Hauptwerk. I therefore have written a proper document describing how to do that.

You will find it here:
http://www.my-music.mine.nu/fcb1010_configuration.pdf

I hope that it is clear and useful - let me know if I can improve it in anyway!

I hope that helps!

Regards

Ken.

Three other points, Kees:

1. The Behringer doesn't seem to send any messages until you hit one of the foot switches. Therefore I always hit foot switch "1" when after I have loaded the first organ of a playing session.

2. Under "Organ Settings -----> Continuous Controller" you can tie the St Annes mirror to either foot pedal (Swell or Crescendo). It reminds me of the film "Don't Look Now".

3. Under "Organ Settings -----> Switch MIDI Inputs", I have set matching Great, Swell and Pedal combinations to the same foot switch, General 01-05. You could use all 10 (or even another bank) to set them to separate foot switches if you prefer. On organs with no combination pistons, you can also set stops to the footswitches, but you may not remember which stops are pulled!

Regards

Ken.

For those that are feeling brave, there is also an alternative firmware you can use with the 1010, but you need to replace the PIC within the board.
http://www.ossandust.be/ This firmware lets you use switches to toggle states, and pretty much customise the 1010 as you wish. I stuck this chip in mine for using with my guitar effects unit.
