CAN OTHER FREE SAMPLES be installed with Free HW?

PostThu Dec 30, 2010 1:02 am

Hi,
Posing the question for a friend who is bringing a Baldwin D900 digital back to life. He is able to play the St.Anne on one of the keyboards now. So that is a start.

Question: Can he with a the free edition of HW install other free organs on it? Or must he first have the basic HW installed?

Thanks for your reply.

Hello Gerrit.

I can't speak for the other free sample sets, but I would presume that most would be the same. The only limitation might be the amount of memory a sample set requires to fully load and whether any post-voicing is required.

The Paramount 310 will run just fine within any memory restrictions imposed by the Hauptwerk free edition. It was also designed to run "out of the box" in native stereo, so you won't be adversely affected by lack of voicing and multi-channel facilities.
Regards,

Alan.

Hello Gerrit,

Yes - there are quite a few free sample sets available for the Free Edition, e.g. we host various ones on our downloads page here:

http://www.hauptwerk.com/downloads/instrument-downloads/

Each one indicates whether it's freeware, shareware or a trial, and whether it's compatible with the Free Edition.
Best regards, Martin.

And, of course, you can also install organs that make use of other free sample sets - such as my "Model 945" and many others.
