Different trem frequency in Mac/Windows

PostSun Feb 05, 2017 11:45 am

Hello all,
while developing our new sampleset we discovered a new bug: We use HW's Tremulant Model and have several tremmed samples for flutes, principals and reeds, also for different feet pitches.

In principle the trems work well, but on my Windows-PC the trem frequency is at about double speed on two manuals than on the third manual. On the Mac our CODM doesn't show this issue. We have checked the CODM several times, but can't find the error, all trem pointings are correct.

Does anyone have an idea about this?

Thanks in advance and best regards
Best regards
Thomas

Hello Thomas,

I'd suggest first testing by:

- Setting all randomisation parameters to zero in the CODM ODF's Tremulant table (especially MaxFrequencyRandomisationPct),

- also setting all randomisation parameters to zero in the CODM ODF's Rank table (e.g. Trem_MaxDepthRandomisationPct and Pitch_MaxRandomTuningErrorHz),

- then loading the organ with the design tools options set to reset absolutely everything (to ensure that no user settings or voicing are affecting/overriding the ODF settings),

- then also setting all randomisation settings to zero on the 'Organ settings | Organ preferences | Audio engine' screen tab.

Does that solve it?

Hello Martin,
thanks again for your quick help.

Yes, your suggestions solved the problem. I think it was enough to reset everything.
Best regards

Thanks, Thomas.

Excellent. In that case probably it was just the user voicing settings for the tremulant rates, which would override a change to that rate in the ODF. If changing anything in the ODF, it's usually necessary to tell Hauptwerk to reset all settings and voicing.
