External Mics w/ built in recorder

PostMon Jan 29, 2007 2:34 am

I have been using HW's built in recorder which records to HD the audio which passes through the sound card. In my case I am using an M-Audio 1010LT. Is there a way to, in addition to recording the audio passing thru the sound card from the organ, add external live mics or an external live audio source?

Hello Ed,

You could use an audio/MIDI sequencer such as Steinberg Cubase 4 or Cakewalk Sonar 6 to do that, with Hauptwerk running as a VSTi plug-in. You would also need mic. preamps or an audio interface with them built in.

Alternatively (perhaps simpler to configure) you could use an external portable audio hard-disk recorder with built-in mixing desk and preamps.

Best regards,
Martin.
