Amazing thread on microphone technique

PostTue May 06, 2008 7:34 am

Hi all, I came across this thread: http://www.homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=27030 which has become almost a definitive guide to microphone selection and usage, in particular thanks to the posts of Harvey Gerst. Hope this is of some interest, but I should warn you, it'll be a very long read!

Just spent days reading it, but since it was getting old most image links were gone... To save others from spending too much time searching for the links to the "one-file-doc-or-pdf" versions mentioned (which also had expired links!) -
I found this link to a PDF-version that still worked:

Amazing amount of real-world experience and great advice!

Dear Chris and etc

THANK YOU! It's fantastically encyclopaedic. It also raises issues that I have been raising to much controversy at the other end of the electro-acoustic chain.

Best wishes
