Alle Roem Is Uitgesloten - Multiple Speakers
by Jan Zwart

This is a link to the mp3 file until the Concert Hall site is working again:

This is the Major I dry (with Lexicon reverb added).
This recording uses my speaker Layout #26 with 26 stereo pairs and 8 groups of four speakers.
I am happy with how clear the sound is. Perhaps this is due to all the stereo speakers?
The midi for this recording was edited in by me using the score of this music. I tried to give a bit of "human" feel to it, but it remains basically a midi piece.

Alle Roem Is Uitgesloten
The Major I (dry with reverb added)
Recorded from a midi file

7:07 minutes and about 13.671 MB.

I first heard this piece on YouTube played on that wonderful Bovenkirk organ. . . just awesome!!! When I added reverb to my dry recording, I tried a decay time of 7 - 8 seconds and 50% wet. The result is quite impressive. But, enough clarity is lost that I decided to set the Lexicon reverb at 2.50 seconds delay at 50% wet. The result is very satisfying to me.

Here is a link to view the EXCEL Speaker Layout #26 used in this recording:

Here is a link to view the EXCEL table showing how the Major I ranks are mapped to all these speakers:

Note: For this recording, I have the Major I dry loaded with full reverb tails (no cutting at all). The result is just great. I think it's because so many groups are in stereo rather than groups of 12 speakers. I don't get the usual "hollow" feel with Layout #26. . . interesting. I do hear a few odd noise-type sounds and I don't know yet what caused those. However the over-all sound is very good (IMHO).
