Technical problems?

PostThu Sep 26, 2013 1:55 pm

When I try to listen to http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/11186 the reader doesn't start but I see a comment from someone who has listened to it and I can download the music. I notice this happens sometimes and I'm wondering why? Have you an idea?

Try clicking on 'Download' about 3/4 of the way down on the right hand side.

Luc said that he could download. It's trying to play it in Contrebombarde which doesn't always work for him for which I unfortunately have no solution.

I just tried it and it's working for me, although I have also had this happen on occasion here and there in the past, you click on play and nothing happens, it just sits there and the counter doesn't start, going back and trying again later it then works. I've always attributed it to either the server is perhaps busy at the time or maybe the web page just didn't open properly. That would be my only two guesses. If the problem persists it could also be how you have something set up in your browser. O.K., that would be my only three guesses.

Hi Marc,

You understood exactly what I explained. Perhaps this problem comes from the browser because it works with Internet Explorer but not with Google Chrome. However, in Chrome the other music samples can be read without problem! Very strange...

Just tried it in a Chrome browser and there is a problem indeed. I believe it is actually trying to read the file and to play it but does encounters no data in the file. The result is the screen just blinks when the play triangle is clicked upon. It works fine in I.E. and Firefox.

Methinks this is a problem for Darryl.

Another problem remains: why other musical examples have no problem in Chrome?

It's working here at my work computer as well. I've avoided Chrome all along because of all the issues I've heard about it and just use regular Google, so don't get scroogled!
