My mathematics skills may not be wonderful but am I correct in thinking that Contrebombarde has recently passed a major milestone? By my rough calculation (500 pages at 20 pieces per page), the number of pieces uploaded just passed 10,000. Quite an achievement for all concerned.

The total has just passed 13,720.

The trick is just to look at the link to each upload - a sequential number gets assigned to each one. So, no higher math skills needed, but you made a pretty good quick estimate.

Thanks for the info Erik - I hadn't noticed that. Maybe what I should have said is that there are currently 10,000 pieces available. I can see that not all sequence numbers are present so maybe people delete/replace pieces over time.

And that's an interesting distinction. If nothing else, it speaks to the possible removal/replacement rate (perhaps ~3500 out of 13,700), which is higher than I would have guessed.

The actual number is less than 13,700, it's true.

The number is less than that because of removals. Yes. However, it's more due to people trying to upload and that file failing for some reason.

I believe the current number of active pieces to be around 11,700 out of the 13,700 active and attempted uploads.

Still a lot of activity folks. Thanks for contributing.

Thanks, Darryl. Failures makes more sense than removals for sure. Should have thought of the possibility those might burn the sequential number...
