ok. looks like the chat function may have been overloading the server with requests. So, we have disabled that feature in order to see if the problems cease. We're also re-enabling the banned IP addresses.

The site is now accessible again, but unforeseeable the former error appears

That's the only one left now.
If you reload the page a few times or log in again, shutting down the browser and breaking connection, that mostly helps.
I think it happens while switching between pages quickly.

Thanks, Edo. There are uploads by you and our pal David that I really want to hear, but "database error" or somesuch prevents me. I've always loved the Hall, but now, with the access problems, I realise how much I love it.

For those who are worried, the chat feature will be coming back one way or the other. We just had to disable it while we're running tests. We may have to tweek it before it comes back but it will be coming back.

After some days working correctly, the old error message comes again

"A Database Error Occurred
Unable to connect to your database server using the provided settings."

After several trials with errors the web site comes up correctly.

Alright. Thanks for hanging in.

It looks like we're finally getting to the root cause of the outages; tcpsndbuf and kmemsize. Not exactly sure what we're going to do about it yet but we've found the issue and there are solutions available. Just looking for something cost effective.

Keep hanging in there... and make sure you check out the new awards badges in Account Stats > awards.

Cheers,

Darryl
