Mapping MIDI recording functionality to key slip pistons

PostFri Feb 15, 2019 3:03 am

Might anyone know how to 'map' midi recording functions, e.g. 'Play', 'Record', 'Stop', etc. to pistons/toe studs? Hauptwerk has made it easy to 'map' ordinary kinds of functions (e.g. combination action-type functions) to pistons/toe studs...but I'm not seeing a way to map the Midi-type functions similarly.

Any guidance/input would be most appreciated!

Thanks much community,

Here's one way you can do this:
Open the large control panel for the audio/midi recorder.
For each control you wish to assign to a piston, right click the control (in the large control panel) and use auto detect "in the usual way".

These can also be auto detected from the mini control panels, in this case that for "recorder/player transport"

Thanks much Iain and Richard. Suggestions implemented successfully! I too will get any future questions of this sort posted in the 'Technical' section...my apologies and thanks for that suggestion!

You are most welcome.

You can assign all (almost all?) of the controls on the large on mini control panels to midi "switches" in the same way.
