An error in the sampleset list

PostWed Sep 11, 2019 2:23 pm

Hello all,
I noticed and reported an error about a composit sampleset,
listed as a Sonus Paradisi sample set.
The composit sample set is still in the SP list ...
It is made only with SP sets or demos, but it is definitly not a SP production.
It is labeled as "Sacré-Cœur Paris Composite"
It has nothing to see with Paris, nothing to see with the real instrument at all.
The name is misleading, willingly masked under sacred label.

I think composit sample sets should appear in CTBB with a diiferent color,
or without hypertext link because they don't come from a real organ...
It could be very confusing for newcomers, and undermine the real great quality of the source samplesets.

"dwood" is still written here as an moderator but I don't know...

Please excuse my off-topic intrusion. It is offered with a friendly intention.

As a sometimes translator and anglophone living in French Canada for 50 years (and married to a bona fide francophone) I offer the following correction:

The French expression "rien à voir avec…" corresponds to the English "nothing to do with…" .

Please don"t be offended. As we say, "c'était plus fort que moi" d'offrir cette correction.

By the way, I like your name, the Sesquialtera has always been my favourite stop on the organ. I was reading that it was often used with the mixture, back in the days when the temperament would allow it.

Hello robsig,

No problem, and thank you for the friendly correction.
I think : "It has nothing to HEAR with ..." could be even better because this is the main problem.

Unfortunatly, this fake sampleset is still in the wrong list...

Some years ago, I pointed out that one of the pictures of the St. Maximin sampleset was wrong, corresponding to another sampleset (St. Carlo, Brescia):

The picture is still there…
This correction is much less important than yours, of course, but it is another example.
