"All Essentials Covered", new 2K+P in Caracas

PostFri Mar 27, 2015 12:44 pm

As defined by a kind organist: All essentials covered. Built according to BDO standards. The instrument can be dismantled allowing semi-portability.

Image

Keyboards are Behringer UMX-610. They were as easy to install as Keystation 61es' and there was no need to cut the keys at their fronts. There is a wide door at the back of the console, accesing to enough space for computers (Mac Mini type), audiocards, etc.

Cover is a suitable feature, and the shelf is detachable

The expression pedal is a Yamaha FC7.

Thanks, Pete, very kind of you. I build them myself. I shouldn't deal with commercial details in this post, but I think I'm allowed forwarding you to visit http://www.organeriamidi.com.

That looks very intriguing as a portable Hauptwerk rig. What is the pedalboard?

Stan, the 32-keys pedalboard is the heaviest component, it weighs 90 kgs, therefore the organ is semi-portable provided that two persons carry its three elements when it be dismantled. Not sure is this answers your question, please let me know. Thanks.

What is the brand of the pedalboard? Is it a readily-available product?

Boy for quick and essential, these are great. This looks like it would make a neat portable rig too. Love it! Nicely done.

(I count myself as part of this...) but sometimes I think we get bogged down in making our systems so big and fantastic looking that we loose sight of just what is essential: keys and pedals. This would nicely fit just about anywhere.

My wife and I are looking to move but we have a problem: my organ is 31.5" deep so it needs a 32" door to fit through. We don't want it in the living room and bedroom doors aren't that large. That really restricts our choices when looking at houses (seriously). Fortunately, we just found a home that has a "bonus room" that has french double doors on it and we think it might a be perfect solution to our problem. When you can dismantle your organ, it can go anywhere (even upstairs!).

Congrats on a great build. :)

Thanks a lot, Professor. It was made to replace the one it was sold. I did several improvements, the visible one being the tambour cover, also the music rack is now robust and placed closer to the organist, and specially the pedalboard's mechanism bearing the magnets is stronger, more accesible and efficient in order to calibrate accurately the point of speech.

Very kind, Romanos. It was thought as a model suitable for students and low-budget amateurs. I think that the new owner could complete it by adding one articulated arm to support a touchscreen, or still better, articulated arms at both sides, placing an ordinary screen and a Novation Launchpad and... it's done!

This is amazing, congratulations!

It's so good seeing someone from Latin America actually building HW organs, and with such quality!

Regards,
Jose.

I don't suppose you have any plans or drawings for that console that you'd be willing to share do you? I'm looking to make something similar (and I know you sell them, but being on a whole other continent from you, I'm unlikely to be able to order one!) for home...
