Console based on the Staples SIMBA desk

PostMon Apr 11, 2016 9:58 am

Greetings to all Hauptwerk users ...

Some time ago I promised to post some photographs of a Hauptwerk installation in which I had been involved by way of advising and some setting up. Well now we have the photographs, and I am pleased to present them below.

The console is based on the Staples SIMBA desk - a low cost unit which with a little modification makes a very firm and secure HW console, as I reported in this post: http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11815&p=87274&hilit=simba#p87274.

Here are the photographs:

3. With Pedalboard & TS Monitors

4. Finally up and running

There was a need to raise the desk by a few inches, but this was easily accomplished. I'm sure you'll agree it looks good, but is very economical as a console.

Best wishes,

Kenneth Spencer

It appears that Staples USA does not offer this unit :( Looks nice.

At first glance it looks quite nice, BUT ...

How were expression pedal(s) attached in the above black console?

The very question I was going to ask!
Also - touch screens above rather than at the same level as the keyboards?
I suggest that if you have the DIY skills to adapt this unit for use as a console, you could probably make your own custom console from furniture board cut to size by your local DIY store/timber merchant.
