It seems Mixtuur has jumped on this bandwagon too and applied it very successfully to HW:

(Quite the attractive organ I must say!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hmsauF4Tz8

And here's some great spice:

I've been looking at these with some interest and the version with "e paper" which is on the MB Facebook page.

I think that more space is need on the "display" to nicely identify a particular stop and perhaps some ability to have variable fonts. The Live organs have three lines of text - the top line is in a smaller font (and probably 16 characters long) and the next two lines are in a larger font and have space for (probably 12 characters): the Live display is of course "e-paper" and probably has finer fonts than the LCD display.

I wonder if MB are going to provide an improved version?

The display we are currently working with is 128x96 B/W square pixels:

As you may suppose, the font is defined in controller firmware, not in display itself.
So it is customizable.
Currently there is only one monospace font of 12x8 pixels with capital and regular characters.
The 32 character string (string length is limited by Hauptwerk display protocol) is shown in3 lines:

line1: 12 characters
line2: 12 characters
line3: 8 characters.

User can play around letters size only by displaying part of text in capitals and part in regular letters.

Custom line size and custom font size per line are possible on request.
