FP10 and Windows 10

PostMon May 02, 2016 3:24 pm

I am setting up a new Hauptwerk installation. The PC is running Windows 10.

I have a Presonus FP10 for audio output - one of three which I hope to use eventually. At the moment I'm trying to set up a single pair of speakers for testing the console and installation.

I have installed the FP10 drivers from the website using compatibility mode, and the FP10 control panel shows it as active. But I see no outputs, either in Windows nor in Hauptwerk.

Is there something else I need to do to make this work?

Thanks,
Lee.

When I last checked the Presonus website, It quoted that the FP10's are compatible with Win10,
other than that I can't help. My Pooters are Antiques, but they are still working !
My HW / Paramount organ is still playing on one of my FP10's utilizing all 10 audio outputs !

I am truly concerned that if at my old Pooter goes "Poof",
will my FP10's still work ?
Please let me know when you have the FP10's playing !
I know that there was a minor fix required in order to use 2 or 3 FP10's stacked.
Are you Using an external Firewire adapter ?

Hi Mel,

The Firewire is internal; a card I added.

When I had my two FP10's Loaded and connected, with their driver installed, and and HW audio outputs set to ASIO,
with all levels at --10 DB .
"All 20 outputs appeared in HW Audio Outputs, and they all worked well."

I long since decided to set up my organ, in Two Chamber "Mono", with Three speakers per chamber, (ie; Main & Solo) chan's, 1 2 3 for Main and 4 5 6 for solo,
all with C--C#--D--etc- rotation,
plus a "Submix" output" (7 & 8 ), that also feeds my Lexicon Mx400 Reverb,
its outputs go to a pair of Stereo Headphones, and 2 Behringer B2031A's with one on each side of my console for "very effective Ambience", and then the 9 &10 outputs from the Organ FP10 "go through an S/PDIF to audio adapter" to My Sub amplifier, and 18" sub !

I hope that you can sift out your problems, I recall having "fits" setting up my system !

Hi, I'm not familiar with FP10, but when I put in an M-Audio USB unit, Windows 10 made it the default sound card. It seemed be there to Hauptwerk but no sound from the speakers. I disabled the interface in the windows sound screen and so it runs with the auto-start of my organ. Windows uses the on-board sound card, I guess..

"Hauptwerk audio outputs set to ASIO"? Is this a Hauptwerk option somewhere?

"When you click the "Hauptwerk Audio Outputs button" ,
a box will open up that will allow you to set parameters for each of the 10 Outputs outputs" !

"To get to H.W. User Guide, follow below instruction" !

Click FORUM >then Technical Support,>then click the word Manual

then open > Version 4.2.1 User Guide,
and save the guide to your desktop, for future use ! ! ! :D
"Audio setup is explained in the guide" !
Not easy but well worth the work !

By the way I would recommend that you do not use your external sequencer at this time as,
Hauptwerk has it's own Sequencer within it !

Please follow the instruction in my previous post !
After reading HW's Manual the settings are easier !

Hello Lee,

ASIO drivers are prefixed with 'ASIO: ...' in the 'Audio output device' setting's list of values on the 'General settings | Audio outputs' screen. For best audio performance, we strongly recommend using the interface's manufacturer-supplied ASIO driver, rather than any other 'DirectSouond: ...' entries you might find there (as covered in the 'Quick-start' and 'Performance tuning' sections in the Hauptwerk user guide).
Best regards, Martin.
