I stand corrected about the MOTU Micro Lite. The more interesting routing possibilities start with the MOTU Micro Express at $250 and larger models. See the Clockworks section of the User Manual.

Some comments on the MOTU Ultralite MK-4. It has 8 available TRS connections ready for 8 channels but also has a Digital Out connection that can be connected an ADAT (via a Toslink cable) to give you another 8 channels. The con however is the momentary switch for powering on and off. Eventually for this type of installation you would want to have your upgraded Allen/Hauptwerk system start and stop with just a 1 or 2 button operation. The push on / push off design on this model can hamper that automation. One forum member was able to circumvent this by adding some custom 'cheater' internal electronics so the unit starts up when AC power is detected. The alternative is to choose a different interface that has a manual or "maintained" on/off switch as 99% of the others do. :-)
