Sticky notes in my system.

Postby Jaime Camps » Sat Apr 15, 2017 1:05 pm

I assembled a Virtual Organ console recently (2 manuals and pedal). Everything is working fine, but a little trouble evidenced inmediately: when I play the sequence in figure 1, I obtain the sequence in figure 2. (Example's URL below) In other words, the F sharp get stuck until I release one of the other notes (no matter if I release G or D). The same problem appears if I transport this sequence up or down, in almost every semitone.
I got this problem with a borrowed keyboard (Samson Carbon 61) and with my own keyboards (two Alesis V61), two different PCs (IBM clones) and also using Hauptwerk and .. The only common piece seems to be the operating system: Windows 7.
I cannot blame keyboards (two different models were tested) the PC (also, two different machines were tested) or VO Software (the problem appears no matter if I use Hauptwerk or .).
I have no idea about how to solve this issue. I tried to avoid it by placing a very short pause between Fsharp and G, but this is not musically acceptable in every case. ... npBNERzVTA ... UVHNWFUeUk

Thanks a lot in advance for your kind attention!!

Have you checked what MIDI codes are reaching the computer? The standard program for this is MIDI Ox - a free download from ... oxdown.htm

There are videos on youtube explaining how to use it.

Observe when the MIDI Note OFF codes occur – that might give you a starting point for further investigation.

What type of MIDI-to-USB converter are you using? Some of the cheaper ones have been reported as doing all sorts of strange things, because they aren't wired properly. Good luck!

In recent years I have only experience note off signals being missed was when using USB as the input. I always midi inputs for my keyboards and never have a problem.
