Preset MIDI card

Connecting Hauptwerk to MIDI organs, sequencers, ...

Preset MIDI card

Postby StoptDiapason72 » Wed Jun 21, 2017 9:15 am

A quick question - I'm comparing two organ consoles at the moment (with a view to purchasing), and one of them comes with an extra preset MIDI card.

I'd appreciate your thoughts on this - useful/ vital/ worth investing in now, at the outset?

Thanking you for your time!

Hello StoptDiapason,

[Topic moved here.]

I, as probably with others here too, am not clear what might be meant by a 'preset MIDI card'. I'd suggest posting the product name, or perhaps a website link to it, so that we get a better idea of what it might actually be referring to.
Best regards,
Martin.

Many thanks for your reply, Martin.

It would seem that terminology got confused in translation.

Having established that 'preset' meant 'piston', things are now clearer.

Thanks, StoptDiapason.

If the option card allows its physical pistons each to transmit MIDI unique and constant messages (e.g. with each pistons transmitting a different, but constant, MIDI program change number, or MIDI note number), so that they would be usable to control Hauptwerk's virtual pistons, then I would definitely think it would be worthwhile getting that option card.
Best regards,
Martin.
