Allen MDS-212

PostFri Sep 08, 2017 2:40 pm

Does anyone have experience interfacing an Allen MDS-212 with Hauptwerk? I believe that the organ came with midi in and out as standard, so it would be essentially "plug and play" using the auto-detect feature. My understanding is that the swell shoes, pistons and SAMS are all interfaced to midi. The only apparent issue is to configure it so that the pistons do not operate the SAMS via the internal capture combination action.

Can someone confirm that this is the case?

Thanks,

Ray

I can't say for certain with the 212 but all MDS series organs we have come across work this way.

Hello Ray,

In case it helps, the 'Playing Hauptwerk live from a digital organ' section of the main Hauptwerk user guide (pages 179-180 in the current v4.2.1 version) has some background information on using digital organs with Hauptwerk in general (combination systems, etc.).
Best regards, Martin.
