From a company based in the UK 8)

LNDR is a master and slave pair that allows MIDI to be sent accurately in both
directions at the same time, across distances of over 500 metres (1640 feet)
using a standard CAT5 cable. This is over 33 times the distance achievable
using standard MIDI cables. The Master unit is mains powered using the i
ncluded PSU.

The manual:

Seems to be a lot to like here esp if itr works as stated.
Bi-directional MIDI, Hmmm and a max of 1600 ft apart.

A MIDI signal applied to the MIDI IN of the master will appear at the MIDI
out of the slave. Similarly a MIDI signal applied to the MIDI IN of the slave
will appear at the MIDI out of the master. You can send signals in both
directions at the same time.

Artisan Instruments (the uMIDI people) sell an extender pair for ~$70 that uses RS-422 which by standard should be good to 1500 meters...
