HD Microphone to use with your mobile phone?

Postby B777Captain » Sun Jul 01, 2018 6:01 pm

I'm in the market for a high quality microphone that can record in HD onto my mobile cell phone while recording. I've started looking online but haven't really found what I'm looking for.

I'm trying to avoid having to buy an expensive camcorder and HD mic...

Thanks for any suggestions

Thanks Murph. I didn't realize they were specific. I figured if a company made one, it would make it for both. But to answer, I have a Samsung Note 8 Android.

Thank you

Not sure if you want to go this way, but I use a Bluetooth transmitter/receiver to feed audio to my phone. In my case it is line level. You may need to pre amplify a mic to match the input level of a b/t interface. But the quality is quite good. It would depend on the quality of the microphone to a large extent.

I believe most (smart) phones require a 4 circuit 1/8" connector for an input such as a microphone. OTOH my Zoom recorder uses a 3 circuit connector.

Also the Connectivity for the Samsung Note 8 is listed as - SPA, LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0

I think you will find that this item is excellent.
It can be remotely controlled from iPhone, Android or Apple Watch

Thank you all for the great suggestions!!

I have learned that I'll need a male 3.5mm cable/2 x 3.5m female connector for this to work as the only input on my phone is for headphones (output). This 3.5mm cable will solve that.

For the actual microphone, I'll look at your links and let you know what I'm thinking and liking.

Thanks again everyone!
