Question: Loudspeakers

PostWed Aug 22, 2018 5:55 pm

Hello to all,

With a question about speakers. What are better speakers for home practice? Monitor studios / linear, or hifi speakers?

I could say I am very exigeant aboput quality, I stand only pipe organs, but I think its for all from us the case...

Thanks in advance

Since studio monitors are tuned linearly, these are the first choice for Hauptwerk. Of course, you can also use neutral hi-fi speakers, which in turn requires an amplifier.
In both cases a subwoofer is indispensable if you want to play deep ranks. But always listen to the speakers of your choice first, even studio monitors sound different.
Best regards
Thomas

The best approach might be to look through the forum. Go to the Amplification section and try searching for "studio monitors" or "subwoofer". I found 21 pages of studio monitor comments just a moment ago.
