Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ

I have Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 that I bought to use with Hauptwerk organ software. I have an EMU 1820 that I replaced it with because it is not compatible with Windows 10. I was able to run 9 or 10 speakers with the Emu as it had 10 stereo channels running from it. I can't figure out how to do the same with Focusrite. Looks like it only has 8 analogue outs. Help would be appreciated.

Rather than assigning a mix to the Main outputs assign any channel strip(s) you like. Just be sure that none of the mixes is feeding the Main outputs. If this doesn't make sense I can set up a photo on my web site so it can be viewed here. I normally keep all the inputs in sequence and run the first stereo channel to outputs 1 & 2 (Main). That way DAC inputs 3 & 4 line up with outputs 3 & 4, etc.

Notice that all of the faders are turned down as we are not using the mixer capability. Channels come from Hauptwerk (DAW) and go to the 10 outputs on the back panel. Every thing is in a logical sequence plus the surround audio is routed to the SPDIF output.

As you see on the mixer photo, the additional channels are handled by ADAT. It‘s a standard which allows to route several channels through one optical cable. The number of them depends on the output resolution. The disadvantage: You need a separate DAC to change the digital signal into several analogue output channels.

To clarify: The photo shows a setup that handles 10 outputs plus two more via SPDIF. I own a Behringer ADAT unit that provides 8 more channels when needed. Those channels all are set to OFF in the photo but can bring the unit to the full 20 output channels. The point for 'fdewitt' is to show how to get the same 10 outputs he had with the EMU interface. The 10 or 12 outputs do not require an external ADAT unit such as the Behringer ADA-8200.
