Help with wiring my console for hauptwerk

PostSun Sep 05, 2004 4:22 pm

I have been waffling on this for quite a while (after all my console, although sounding pretty bad and having issues does sort of work still) but I think I'm going to bite the bullet and midi-fy my console for Hauptwerk.

The choice for midi encoders is fairly obvious, the midiboutique hwce sounds like exactly what I need, but I am really wondering about how to best proceed in terms of wiring things. Ideally I'd like to be able to use all the wiring already there and connect it in some fashion to hwce (not to have to get new switches and rewire things) but I don't have any schematics for my console and thus I am a bit stumped.

I know it's a long shot, but does anybody here have any idea of the key/stop organization in a Wurlitzer 4602 (2 manuals + 1 pedalboard and a bunch of stops, reed sound synthesis) and how to best interface it with hwce/hauptwerk?

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give me.

A Google search on Wurlitzer 4602 brought up this site: http://www.organizedservices.com/wurlitzer.htm
