Using the Setter disables "all pistons +1"

PostFri Jan 14, 2022 2:58 pm

Hi everyone,

when I use the setter, it disables "all pistons +1".

This makes some sense because "all pistons +1" is more of a performance feature, whereas programming cues is done in advance.

However, as I practice my piece, I am already practicing with "all pistons +1" on all the time. I frequently find places where I want to improve the registration. After making my changes, I use SET + "RETRIGGER CURRENT CUE" to resave it. (This prevents me from making mistakes and overwriting the wrong cue)

In this workflow, it is quite annoying that "all pistons +1" gets disabled whenever I use the setter.

Obviously it is not a big problem for me to just remember re-activating "all pistons +1" whenever making changes. But I am curious if there is an automatic solution already possible within Hauptwerk. Best of all would be if I could configure one MIDI button, and it does all three things: pressing the SET, pressing "RETRIGGER CURRENT CUE" and afterwards re-enabling All Pistons +1.

Hello Lukas,

Currently there's no way natively to automate that process, I'm afraid. However, I've logged as an enhancement request that you'd like a new dedicated function to re-save the current registration to the current stepper frame (without needing to turn the setter on, and without causing 'all pistons +1' to be turned off).
Best regards, Martin.

Hello Andy,

Just a small note of caution: if a MIDI control is configured to trigger multiple virtual controls then the order in which they will get triggered isn't guaranteed -- it might conceivably change if you (re-)configure/auto-detect other MIDI controls, or between Hauptwerk versions.
Best regards, Martin.

Thanks, Andy.

Ah -- yes -- in that case you should be fine.
Best regards, Martin.
