My new Hauptwerk computer (Windows 7) has two 512 GB SSDs, where my previous computer had one 1TB HDD. I didn't account for the free space no longer being combined, plus some added Dell and Windows bloatware, so I can't fit all my samplesets on this two drive configuration.
Currently, HauptwerkInternalWorkingFiles is in C:\Hauptwerk and HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents is in D:\Hauptwerk.
If the new, larger but slower external drive is E: and I want to move the sample sets and components to it, and move the internal working files to D:, are these the right steps?
0. Make a Hauptwerk backup of settings.
1. Move D:\Hauptwerk\HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents to E:\Hauptwerk\...
2. Move C:\Hauptwerk\HauptwerkInternalWorkingFiles to D:\Hauptwerk\...
3. Run installer and give it the two new top-level directories ...\Hauptwerk under Custom.
Should I expect this to recache samplesets afterward?
I know this topic has been covered in other posts, but I'd like to verify the steps before I shoot myself in the foot.
Thank you.
