Freeing up disc space / un-installing organs

PostFri Jun 23, 2017 2:31 pm

Hello all,

I did refer to the users manual first and I've got kind of a basic question here, but want to make sure I get what I'm hoping to accomplish. I've just about burned up the entire available space on my 1 TB hard drive and I'm looking to free up some space in the event something in a new sample set comes along that I want to purchase. I have a number of sample sets I no longer use, a couple which are taking up considerable space. Under 'file' 'un-install organ or temperament' I can see all the sets installed along with the 'data' for the instruments and temperaments installed as well. I'll keep the temperaments as I sometimes find them useful and I'd think the space they occupy is very minimal.

1.) Do I un-install both the instrument and the data associated, or does HW do both automatically as it does when you install an instrument?
2.) Will I then have more free space on my hard drive? I'd assume the answer to that is yes. Or are there additional steps I'd still need to take?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Marc,

Correct.

No (since sometimes data packages are shared between multiple organs, for example).

Correct.
