Network failure Cannot download HWV

PostTue Dec 10, 2019 4:11 am

As soon as I try to download using Chrome after receiving this email: (To download Hauptwerk, please make sure you have an account and are logged in. Click here to download hauptwerk for windows. The Hauptwerk trial and licensed editions require an iLok account. We hope you enjoy Hauptwerk! The Hauptwerk Team http://www.hauptwerk.com | http://www.milandigitalaudio.com )

I get a network failure notice and this message:

\Users\DELLVE~1\AppData\Local\Temp\kiJvJajz.exe.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.
Try again later, or contact the server ad
ministrator.

An hour earlier I downloaded other software (nothing to do with Hauptwerk) with no problem.

Ed

Hello Ed/Willem,

To those getting problems downloading the Hauptwerk installers and/or documentation, the issue is that the server is overloaded at the moment: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17833&p=134390#p134390

Our apologies for that.
Best regards, Martin.

Same Network Failed message. Tried several times during the night.. Doesn't even begin to,d/l. Will keep trying. Do understand the high volume issue. Assume there is or won't be any other option other than to d/l

Apologies are useless.
Do something.
Set up an alternate server and give the link to people who have paid!
Trial users shouldn't be allowed to clog up the works for paying customers.
This is Keystone Cops commerce!

He's got a point.

I have not been able to download the trial version for evaluation. I was hoping to work with the trial for a bit, so I can make an informed decision whether to buy HW-V within the couple of days we have before the initial offer goes away.

Having tried all day to download HW-V without success, I had thought maybe just to go ahead and buy the software using the code, but it seems that it wouldn't matter, because nobody can download anything right now.

We all look forward to this being sorted out.

Possibly overloaded but professional experience suggests that the server is actually misconfigured. Martin does not seem to be involved with this and I doubt that anyone at MDA has the expertise to do anything about it.

However with download manager software I did manage to downoad a copy of the OSX version. It is complete and checksums correctly. (See my other post), http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17908

The installer seems to work but then HW5 will not start and now neither will the previously perfectly-working HW4. So something of a pyrrhic victory.

Maybe wait for the dust to settle?

- Adrian.

Martin you are a genius, :D something we've known right along. And besides that, you are very much appreciated. Yes, those links worked. In a word, thank you.
