Licensing File

PostWed Dec 11, 2019 10:38 pm

I am trying to install Hereford Organ version V. I already have licence for it. I have managed to install the component parts but I get and error when trying to load the organ. "you don't currently have a valid and active licence" with a web site to go to. Here I am provided with Licensing package which I have downloaded. I am then required to to load it through File/Install. I am provided with a list of organs by number. How do I know which the number for the Herefors organ.

I am finding this change over to version 5 extremely difficult. There is too much having to dive inside the computer.

That file you installed is just a reference list, not your license. In ilok manager, after you sign in, do your Hereford licenses appear in the activated list, the available list, or not at all?

In my ilok manager, under All Activations, I see 3 Hereford licenses for volumes 1, 2, and 3. Did you get that far?

I have no licences in my iLok relating to Hauptwerk except for Hauptwerk itself. What is the mechanism that causes licences to be written to my iLok?

I think this is what you are looking for:

- Make sure that the current version of the driver for the pre-v5 Hauptwerk USB Key is installed on the computer. The current version may be downloaded from: https://www.hauptwerk.com/v4-license-updates/

- Make sure that your pre-v5 Hauptwerk USB Key is attached to the computer, and that its internal lamp is lit (which indicates that it is working properly).

- Make sure that you have installed the current version of Hauptwerk v5: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17833&start=15#p134591

- Make sure that you have activated your license for Hauptwerk version 5 (either to iLok Cloud, or to an attached iLok dongle).

- Launch Hauptwerk.

- If the pre-v5 Hauptwerk USB Key is working properly, you should see an item on the File menu named 'Initiate migration of Hauptwerk pre-v5 sample set licenses to this version ...'. Select that menu item, and follow its instructions to create a sample set license migration request file. It will be saved to your desktop by default. Do not lose the file!

- Send that file to us via the following form: https://www.hauptwerk.com/prev5licensemigrations/

- We will then assign v5-compatible licenses for your sample sets automatically to your specified iLok account. (If there are any complications, then we will contact you by email.)

- Activate those licenses in iLok License Manager once they appear on its 'Available' tab. (You will need to be logged into iLok License Manager to see any newly-available licenses.)

- Download the current version of the Hauptwerk licensing packages file, and use 'File | Install ...' to install it within Hauptwerk: https://www.hauptwerk.com/licensingpackages/

- Use 'File | Install ...' within Hauptwerk to install the v5-compatible versions of each of your copy-protected sample sets that you downloaded from their makers.

- You should then be able to load those v5-compatible sample sets as normal in Hauptwerk (using 'Organ | Load organ ...', for example).

I think it's worth noting that this:

makes it sound like a manual procedure. In fact it appears to be automatic; my licences appeared in my iLok account a couple of seconds after I submitted the form.

Indeed it is automatic.
The entire procedure to update the licenses from HW4 to HW5 only takes a couple of minutes.

It does look like it should be automatic. I had looked in the iLok manager and could only find my previous licences for other products. As a result of the previous posts, I loaded Hauptwerk and looked under file to discover there was this option to request the licences be transferred. (I had popped my old dongle into a spare slot in a usb hub for safe keeping.) I worked my through the request and transmitted it. I reived an immediate reply that a request with these details had already been received.
I went back to the iLok manager to discover some licences had arrived. So all is OK now. Thanks for your help
