upgrading from v4

PostMon Jan 06, 2020 8:22 pm

Two questions please:

1. When upgrading from v4 to v5, do I need to un-install v4 first or will installing v5 do that for me? or is it not necessary?

2. If I need to install V5 updated versions of sample sets, at what stage is it best to do that - before using v5 to create a migration request and get ILok authentification for those sample sets - or after?
many thanks

Good evening David,

1. If you are upgrading HW installed on a MAC, you must uninstall and also manually delete the following folders
  • '/Applications/Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ'
  • '/Users/Shared/Relocated Items/Hauptwerk'
  • '/Hauptwerk'

NOTE: By uninstalling and deleting the folders, you will need to reinstall all your sample sets. Make sure to download the HW5 compatible packages for your encrypted sample sets and to have the packages for your non-encrypted sample sets

On a PC you can upgrade without un-installing first.

2. It will be the last steps... after migrating your licenses and also installing the "licensing pack" available here - https://www.hauptwerk.com/licensingpackages/

Regards
