There isn't a bug in Hauptwerk related to any particular Windows 7 edition. Could you clarify what you mean by 'no luck'? Do you mean that you tried to restore your Hauptwerk settings backup and couldn't, for some reason? If so, what specifically was the problem that you had when trying to do so?

Did you actually make a backup in Hauptwerk before you upgraded your Windows installation, and save it somewhere external to the computer (e.g. a USB memory stick), as I asked you to?: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18537#p139667

If so, where did you save that file?

Yes I make backups to a special folder on a separate HD (HW5 backups)
It doesn't explain why HW5 is not behaving like it used to.

Thanks, Owen.

Am I correct in understanding that, prior to wiping your PC, you had the routing configured how you wanted it?

If so:

It's probably simplest if we help you just to restore that backup. What problem are you having with restoring the backup?

Hello Owen,

It will almost certainly be that you simply have some audio/routing settings configured incorrectly (probably on the mixer, or on the audio device screen, or possibly on the groups screen or rank routing screen).

However, the simplest and quickest option would simply be to restore your previous backup. Could you let us know the answers to my previous questions?:

Latest report;

I did another restore and I didn't make any adjustments to any other screens all the sound has returned to (my) normal settings. Interesting eh?

I can now rest easy.

Happy Easter all.

Spent a few hours working on the beast tonight; I now have the P450, P341, M331, Neil's 335 all up and running, with the audio coming out of the correct channels.

Let's have some music to cheer us up with all this isolation.

Back to square one! Went to the studio for some playing. The audio is all over the place, I have spent over 5 hours going over everything in an effort to having my original settings, back to my liking.

IMO I think HW5 should have a simple audio setup routing, it is too complicated.

Had to keep re-assigning every, very boring.

Not very happy at the moment.

Re: AUDIO ROUTING

Hello Owen,

Hauptwerk v5 definitely *won't* change your audio routing by itself -- either you, or your audio hardware (e.g. device channels being in a different order), or something else (e.g. turning the computer off without shutting it down properly and thus losing settings changes or corrupting files, or conceivably a virus scanner, virus, or erratic memory board fault), must have have done something to change it. If you'd like us to try to see whether your logs give any clue as to what it was that changed it, then please use 'Help | Create a diagnostic file' and send the resulting file to Francois (support [at] hauptwerk.com), and also attach the backup that you made two days ago (when everything was configured how you wanted it).

Also, there's no need for you to keep trying to configure all of your settings from scratch again -- just use 'File | Restore ...' to restore the backup that made two days, so as to get your settings back to how you had them at the time. If you're having difficulty doing that, then please just tell us what the problem is that you're actually having (and send a diagnostic file, as above), so that we can help you.
Best regards, Martin.
