Hello seh52,

[Topic moved here.]

There's no officially-supported way to do that, I'm afraid (although we do have enhancement requests logged for more comprehensive sortable/editable names/browsers for organs, temperaments and combinations).

Unofficially (at your own risk), it's technically possible to rename the files using the operating system's file browser within your .../Hauptwerk/HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents/OrganDefinitions folder. However, be aware that if you were to do that then:

- Any subsequent updates/patches installed for the sample set would no longer overwrite/update your current version of the organ definition, so you would also need to delete your current organ definition, then, once installed via Hauptwerk's component installer, rename any such organ definition updates manually.

- The organ's sample set cache will be regenerated when you next load it.

- Any entries for that particular organ that you might have assigned to the 'favourites' list, or on the most-recently-loaded organs list, will no longer work.
Best regards, Martin.

Thanks Martin - I was going to ask the same question as well. If the enhancement could include some sort of ability to impose a hierarchy that would be good. I’d like to be able to group organs together for ease of finding, for instance putting all English traditional organs in one list, and all German baroque in another. No doubt other people would have their own preferred ways to arrange organs.

The same sort of thing would be useful for combination sets, reverb etc as well, of course.

Thanks, srw647.

Yes -- we have enhancement requests for things along those lines. I've added your notes to them.

Thanks, Martin!
I'll continue to use the default system.
I have organized sample sets by date, builder and location in a Word doc. I italicize the Load organ name, so that visiting organists and I can match the preferred organ to the listed Load Organ name. Otherwise, we get lost.

Examples:

1587 Unknown Builder: Holy Trinity Church, Smecno, Czech Republic
1699 A. Starck z Lokte: Zlata Koruna Monastery Church, Czech Republic
1700's Petar Nakic Adriatic Organ Model: St. Maria d'Alieto Church, Izola, Italy
1702 Caimari: St. Augustine's Church, Palma, Mallorca, Spain
1714 Jean Boizard: St. Michel en Thierache, France
1719 Johannes Radeker and Rudolph Garrels: Magnuskerk, Anloo, Netherlands
