2 Divisional pistons not working....

PostWed Aug 05, 2020 10:27 pm

HI Gang...

I noticed on my Paramount 450 that Great Divisional pistons 4 and 5 are not working. When I tried to auto-connect them to the screen 4 and 5 pistons, they were not recognized... didn’t ‘t get the icon accepting that instruction like normal.

It happens on all samples, not just Paramount.

Any suggestions on fixes for this issue??

Thanks!

As a first step, you can view the Hauptwerk log or use MidiOx to verify if or what those pistons are sending MIDI wise.

Hello Pat,

To add to Ed's reply (thanks, Ed), if MIDI-OX shows that those two MIDI pistons are indeed sending MIDI messages to the computer, then for how to enable MIDI logging in Hauptwerk for troubleshooting auto-detection problems, see also this post:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18910&p=142299#p142284

If you're have problems auto-detecting something, you could also could also turn on the 'Diagnostics: log all MIDI messages received and sent' option on the 'General settings | General preferences | Advanced ....' screen tab, then try auto-detecting the relevant virtual control, then use 'Help | View activity log' to see what MIDI messages Hauptwerk received, and whether auto-detection considered them to be valid/invalid/conflicting events.
