Hello Doug,
[Topic moved here.]
Thanks very much for the interest in upgrading to v6.
Some answers/points:
- You won't find a measurable difference in CPU requirements between v5 and v6 unless you specifically enable the new CPU-intensive audio engine options in v6 (high-definition pitch-shifting, 96 kHz).
- Likewise, any difference between the two versions in terms of memory usage would be negligible if you don't enable those two options (and small, even if you do enable them).
- Even if you do turn on either or both of those options you can simply turn them again if you need/want to.
- Hence you really shouldn't have anything to worry about with regard to computer requirements.
- If you install v6 and haven't yet purchased/activated a licence upgrade for it then yes -- it will run in 14-day evaluation mode.
- However, once you've installed and run v6 there's no way to go back to using v5 except by completely un-installing Hauptwerk and re-installing v5.
