Maybe some simple questions,

PostTue Jul 12, 2005 1:09 pm

that I would like to have answered:
Does HW1 need floating point arithmetics or does it work with integers?
That means, to build up a cheap but effective pc system would a Celeron be enough, and at what cpu speed?

I'm planning the following:

max 3 GB, playing only convenient organs
sound on mobo over spdif digital out
celeron 2.6 or 2.8 ghz

sound made by an excellent stand alone D/A converter, i.e. without help of the pc

In times when HW2 is about to be finished, what do the Hauptwerkians think about my HW1 low cost solution?

Hauptwerk v1 uses integer arithmetic, v2 floating-point. I'm afraid I've no experience with the Celerons, so I can't advise on how well they would perform.

Martin.
