Stereo and mono samples

PostWed Nov 12, 2003 4:17 pm

Can an organ definition be constructed that will allow a mixture of stereo and mono stops, such that when the organ is loaded using the stereo option, that the stereo stops are loaded as stereo and mono stops are loaded as mono files, without the mono files being expanded into identical L and R files which would take up as much RAM space as a regular stereo file?

Not in the current version of Hauptwerk, I'm afraid. The whole instrument is loaded either as stereo or mono. Version 2 will allow different audio outputs to use different channel formats, so you could have some stops being loaded in mono and sent to a mono output or bank of outputs, with others in stereo.

Martin.
