Ideas for improving the Hauptwerk software.

Crescendo editor... my mouse died!

Brett/Martin

Last night I began editing (my first experience editing a crescendo program and haven't finish yet!) one of the crescendo programs for the Matyas organ... and almost killed my mouse  with the thousand of "clicks" needed to edit it. With 130 controls (ranks/couplers) and 72 levels that's a lot of clicks to create the whole crescendo program!

Would it be possible to have a way to select multiple stages for a rank. For example, click on level 36 then shift click on stage 72 and all the stages (36 to 72) would be activated for the rank. To deselect, maybe clicking the rank/coupler name for reset it. Of simply assume that by clicking/selecting stage 36, I want all the other stages after 36 to be activated; deselecting from a stage would deselect all the previous stages (deselect 32... 0 to 32 would be deselected.)

Right now, it is almost unthinkable to build a crescendo specific to some pieces, so much work being involve, but improving the editing screen would make this possible.

Thanks
François

Hello Francois,

That could be implemented within the organ definition file currently, so you probably want to raise that as an enhancement request with Inspired Acoustics for the Matyas sample set.
Best regards,
Martin.

I had a similar editing experience (not with H/W) last week. Not only is the mouse worse for the wear, so is the thumb on my right hand.
