Salisbury Willis out of character artefacts

PostSun Apr 15, 2012 5:13 pm

Has anyone else noticed a strange artefact on the Choir Flageolot 2 of the Salisbury Cathedral Willis sample set - Vol 3.

On pipes/notes F3 and C4 there are upper spectrum string like components added to the pipe tone about 0.5 sec after the key is struck - most noticeable on F3. The effect on C4 is more subtle but also presents about 0.5 sec after key strike. The effect, particularly on F3, is noticeable even when chords including this note are played with other ranks selected.

I doubt these effects would be characteristics of the actual organ. I have searched the Forum database but could not find any other report of this issue. Brett, your comment welcome.

Except as others have noted these are the only strange effects I have detected after much playing of this marvelous sample set.
