One is waiting for demos of the dry samples. With or without added reverb.
(Although, I think buying Krzeszow in the sale is also very attractive.)
I don't think Santa will bring both.

Congratulations Juri - the organ is magnificent! I have only 16 GB RAM so I loaded only the front samples and the sound is excellent. Now I will have to upgrade my computer (16GB limitation on the motherboard BIOS.) I can't imagine how it must sound in full surround sound.

The earlier comment about being conservative in registrations is very true. The real value of this organ is not having a bunch of stops to play all at once. To me, the intensity of the full organ is too much. The value is a virtually endless number of lighter registrations for the same composition. I will spend many happy hours trying to find them all.

The download from the website and subsequent loading into Hauptwerk took the better part of a full day due to the huge size of the sample set. But all went without a problem.

Best regards,
Bob

Magnificent instrument ! It really fills a stylistic gap in the samplesets offer and has not the kind of somewhat acerbic tone of some "néo" instruments. An with the wet version only (not enough RAM for surround) the acoustics is already vast and friendly, but not too much. Congratulations to Jiri !
If anyone has advices about the proper way to registrate this instrument, I would quite interested.

A magnificent instrument! I downloaded all files over night flawlessly and installation went smoothly. I loaded it in surround 24 bit - the instrument gives an enormously clear spatial perception.

Thank you Jiri.

Is only the Bovenwerk division available under expression? Thank you.

I have listened to the demos. A wonderful sound!

I used to think that I had a lot of RAM (18GB), but now not so much!

I am entranced by Hoofdwerk's demos.

Hi All
Really impressed with Rotterdam--Laurenskerk.
Although I could only load all in 20 bit and no surround, organ sounds awesome.
Especially if windchest nr.10 and nr.11 are set so they stay open.

Hi Sesquialtera
Dont know to much about it myself but i just try things out and see what sounds the best
But if you go to the blower page and set nr10 and nr11 both buttons on the top are yellow on each of them.
The one is yellow already .You just have to make it that the little button on the left is yellow also.
Hope this helps.

I imagine he is referring to the wind system, which for this organ is entirely Jiri Zurek's invention. As JZ mentions in his notes on the sample set, the actual Rotterdam Marcussen organ has rock solid stable wind, so for the purposes of the sample set he has created a wind model entirely of his own invention, which employs 11 wedge-bellows to create a "lively" (his word) result. To mimic the behavior of the actual real Rotterdam organ itself, the wind model should be turned off, however. (Those of us in the USA don't have the choice of using it anyway.)

I have made an important update to the Rottedam. The couplers to the pedal are now divisional, which allows independent coupling of various manuals to the pedal. This is how the real instrument works and I overlooked this funcionality in the original release. The update should do what is necessary. Available from the Rotterdam update page.

Not to be sarcastic, but the pedal is a little deficient in 8 foot flues.
