German Organ history... Would anyone know:

PostTue Feb 02, 2016 3:15 am

All...

Would anyone here with a musical background know which organ Bach wrote and probably first performed the famous "Jig Fugue" BWV 577?

I've searched around the net and not really had any luck.

Just kinda curious which walls (if they even exist today) first heard that great organ piece by the Master himself.

Thanks for any solid info on this!

From what I remember, the Gigue Fugue was written for the pedal harpsichord originally.

Hello Pat:
According to P. Williams (The organ music of J. S. Bach. Vol I, p.245) there is no Bach´s autograph manuscript of this precious piece. So no idea about where and when (and even there doubts have been raised about "by who")
Regards
Luis
