Lipiny - new free sample set

PostMon Oct 24, 2016 8:40 am

Hello,
I've released next sample set, with some delay. More details on my website:

http://www.piotrgrabowski.pl

So far the download is available only via Mega.nz (works best with Google Chrome and requires account), but I will provide alternative mirror link soon. I hope everything will work okay.

Okay, I've listened to your demo 3x now. Congratulations on an incredibly beautiful sounding sample set. I can't wait to get home and try it!

Thank you Piotr. Very nice german romantic instrument with a pleasant acoustic. It sounds great. And has a good size too: not too difficult to download and which can be used with any "normal" computer. Good work.

Very beautiful. I really appreciate how well all of the stops blend -- I could hardly find a combination that wasn't useful in some way. Even the softer stops add enough coloration to the louder ones to be useful -- try the Man I Principal with the Man II Portunal Flote for example.

The acoustic is perfect for practice too -- just big enough to sound interesting but not mushy. A wonderful instrument!

A side note and not a complain about the sample set at all: I just don't get what people were thinking about with free reed trumpets. A free reed clarinet is glorious, a free reed trumpet sounds like a gigantic harmonium :P

This organ is nice; still has hints of classical voicing, and will do well for a much broader scala of music than you would expect from the time it was built. Was surprised to find the through beating trompete; it's indeed harmonium like (although slow), and when combined with a few other stops, sounds indeed like a reed organ. That's quite nice, actually. Too bad it's the only manual reed stop.

What exactly is the purpose and benefit of "Additional Sustain Samples"?

“Too bad it's the only manual reed stop” - I don't understand – I just counted seven reed stops distributed between the three manuals?

I downloaded it with Google Chrome for Windows -- no problems except that it
took over two hours at a ridiculously slow rate.

Problem now, apparently I do not have enough free disk space to load it on drive c:
apparently 8GB is not enough.

I have moved HW to my d: drive and now have 45GB spare on c: will try again later.

Don't use Mega, just choose to download directly with your browser instead. I use Chrome, downloaded in about an hour or so and all concerning that part went well. Haven't had time to try this instrument out yet though.

I have never found an agreement with Mega in any form. I did try to download using my Google Chrome which has worked for years, yet not from this site. It tells me I don't have enough space, given that presently I have 643 GB of available space on a 1 TB "C" drive. When I tried creating an account with Mega, all I get is promo ads for various browsers. Gonna forget trying to do a download here.

This may be related to how Mega uses your browser for downloads. It caches everything to ram 'till the end, then writes to the HDD. If you have under 6G ram, this download will probably fail.
