Austin sample set opportunity?

PostSat Nov 05, 2016 5:16 pm

My interest in the pipe organ was inspired hearing the world's largest outdoor organ, the Spreckles Austin organ in Balboa Park in San Diego, California. It is, I believe, an excellent example of an early Austin pipe organ and arguably one of the largest ever manufactured by Austin organs. As it is an outdoor organ, capturing stops might be challenging but likely not impossible. It would be quite a coup if it could be done.

Nice organ but the acoustics are a problem ..also the aircraft noise.

St Paul episcopal ( in San Diego ) is very nice.

How about recording the newly renovated Kotzchmar organ in Portland Maine? Huge Austin in impeccable condition.

Assume you have CD's of Dr Carol Williams' many recordings? And get her news letters?

Carol left the civic organist position last year. We have guest organists each wek on Sunday now.
