Organ ID conflict

PostSat Nov 12, 2016 2:18 am

I recently installed the free Beckum organ (http://virtualpipes.nl/eng/beckum-gradussen_eng.html). Soon afterwards it did not work anymore. I get a message with error code 4775. Turns out that Beckum has the same organ ID (1340) as the FCCLA organ demo (http://www.clrresources.com/fccla-the-g ... a-skinner/).

The organ ID 1340, is clearly assigned to CLR resources. Virtualpipes has been asked by us and by Milan Digital Audio to change their organ IDs, you may wish to contact them and request a new download.

Absent their cooperation, you can open the .Organ_Hauptwerk_xml file with a text editor. There will be an XML tag toward the beginning of the file that looks like this

<Identification_UniqueOrganID>1340</Identification_UniqueOrganID>

If you add "80" (or "8x" x=0-9) at the beginning of this, it moves it into the block of common numbers used by the CODM. The new changed tag would look like this

<Identification_UniqueOrganID>801340</Identification_UniqueOrganID>

Save the file, then this will allow you to load the instrument and not collide with our OrganID numbers.

Unfortunately their .Organ_Hauptwerk_hbx file is encrypted and cannot be edited.
Hopefully they will make a patch available.

All the best.
