And also honestly, if you set up a separate instance of Hauptwerk for 2- channel sets like this and go mixdown to your back channels, you will get 99.9% of the benefits of surround, will save many GB of memory, and you honestly won't be able to tell the difference.

Marc, we've had this discussion before; mixing the same sounds through more than one speaker is a bad idea. You're welcome to your opinion, and if you can't hear why it's bad, then by all means go for it, but I can't do it. Also remember that another vendor has just released a similar American organ with 6 channels.

Some may say "this one is cheaper", and that's fair enough, but I don't buy samples based on cost. I tend to buy 1 sample and use it for a few years so it has to sound good. A few hundred dollars spread over a few years is meaningless considering the cost of the rest of my system; speakers, amps, keyboards, console, music. I have 32 gigs of ram, so again memory is not a concern unless it's a massive sample (which I don't buy anyway since I'm not a fan of large and cumbersome organs).

My sample usage went like this:
Velesovo, CC - St Eucaire, Tholen, Rotterdam Transept.

I'm now looking for a new sample with a warmer sound. But there is no way I'm backing down on quality or features. Again, just my opinion, I'm sure this Schantz will be enjoyed by many.

Sonar,

The Sonus Aeolian Skinner is magnificent, but I found on my computer that 32gigs of memory was cutting things a bit short, and when I applied Jake's expansion, the computer freaked.

It is being reconfigured with more ram and a new motherboard as we speak.

Gerry

Btw, giwro, count me in. I'll buy one.

I'd respond in detail but then we'd be way off topic for this subject and starting a whole new discussion. I do plan to report soon on some new findings utilizing mixing 'same sounds' you and others might find interesting. Stay tuned.

For now, I have an old saying to share I've used here before, and it goes like this..... You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

On this we agree; the only thing left is establishing who, exactly, is the horse in this scenario :)

Let me just say this one last thing on the subject; you can try all the arrangements and tests that you like, testing stuff out is fun can be great way to learn. But the science is unfortunately not on your side in this "argument".

For those who are interested, I've added the L and R Jambs.

We have a few notes to tweak, crescendo pedal to program, and it will be ready, I think...

Ok, I think we are done with the tweaks.... Cresc pedal is added and programmed.

Just a few more tests, and we will go live, I think.
