Azzio - new free sample set

PostSun Nov 05, 2017 2:42 pm

Hello,
I've just released new sample set, Azzio. It is 11 stop, 2+P organ, built in 2016 in renaissance/baroque style. Hope you will like it.

More details on my website.

I hope this time it won't require any quick patches ;)

Even just on my iPhone this instrument sounds very inviting and different from the previous one by Macioni organ builders.
A very welcome addition to hauptwerk and it seems well recorded too.

Thanks, also for including those very nice Polish pieces I have know already for decades.

Jon Liinason has recorded some quiet Frescobaldi with this organ:

And here is something more contemporary with pleno registrations:

Another wonderful instrument, particularly apt for practice as you can hear every little mistake^H^H^H^H^H^H^H nuance of your playing.

I have sent Piotr a donation and strongly encourage everyone else who is enjoying his work to do so!

Is the reverb added or "natural".? In either case, very nice.

I don't add artificial reverb.

Didn't think so. It sounds "really" real. Thanks.

I put off trying this sample set but with all the recordings posted on Contrebombarde, I had to try it out. Wow, I was not disappointed. The acoustic, excellent clarity, and wonderful character make this a fantastic set. I ended up just noodling around on it for over an hour in sort of a trance. I could have easily spent three. Wonderful job. I also love the top-notch graphics used in your sets. Donation on its way.

I fully agree. This sample set is exceptional. It is just now in my top 5 (with Giubiasco too).
Thank you Piotr.

I’ve been playing this virtual instrument for a couple of days and it is excellent. It must be one of the best small sample sets available. Not only does the instrument sound wonderful but it is very well presented with excellent graphics. Congratulations Piotr.

If it were possible it would be wonderful to have an version of this set with the manual compass extended to f3, the pedal compass extended to f1 and the missing C# installed. Whilst this would not be a faithful copy of the original 2016 instrument, it would make it more suitable for practice at home. My other wish would be that there was a slight delay (30-50ms?) from engaging a stop until it starting to sound – this would make the “feel” of the virtual instrument a little more realistic.

I made a couple of adjustments using the HW voicing controls. I made the stop engage / disengage sounds softer and increase the volume of the pedal Subbasso a little.

This is really good instrument. Thank you.

I also hope that a connoisseur in CODM could provide us another ODF with those very useful corrections.

Thank you for comments.
I don't plan to extend keyboards. It is not and old instrument, it was meant to be with such as you may say, limitations or things to correct.
About introducing delays, introducing delays in Hauptwerk is not straightfoward. Maybe I'll develop a way to do this in future sample sets, I also miss such feature.
