So far, is this the most Schoenstein influence we have on a sample set?

I asked Jake (subbas32) if he could enclose certain, few ranks of a sample set into an existing enclosure. He answered - "No problem".

Really nice effect possibility. A lot of good music is available in a relatively small instrument.

The organ in the youtube video which Ed has posted above is in Christ & Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Details of the instrument may be found at http://www.csschurch.org/music/the-schoenstein--company-organ/ and the specification at http://www.csschurch.org/sites/317/uploaded/files/Schoenstein_Organ_Specification.pdf. The organ featured in the American Organist magazine in 2009. See http://www.csschurch.org/sites/317/uploaded/files/American_Organist.pdf

It is essentially a two manual instrument built with careful extension work (for example the stops for the Great Principal chorus are independent ranks) and the third manual is provided duplexing selected stops from the Great & Swell to form a division which has three sections: solo stops, accompaniment stops and a selection of swell stops to offer another "ensemble". Quite an interesting way to maximize the use of a fairly small number of ranks. The specification is worth looking at.

The last line of the writeup is significant.

' Some people may drive a RollsRoyce to church – we have the privilege of driving one in church!'

That said with a large druel. 8) (Now if that one was available as a sample set.)

I would like a sample set of the Schoenstein organ in the Latter Day Saints Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have not heard the organ in person but it sounds amazing on Youtube.

Thanks for posting, Sonar11. That Schoenstein organ is in Lincoln, Nebraska, where my twin brother is living. A niece was married at Plymouth Church and it was an incredible experience to hear Tom Trenney play for the celebration. I'm reminded that wonderful music is not tied to a single city and can occasionally be found where one would least suspect.

This organ -seems to me- lacks the warm and reverb type of the above mentioned one. Besides, the demos are rather limited in style in variations, and perhaps do not show the real potentialities o the instrument.
