Organo di Padre Davide da Bergamo

Postby zurek » Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:08 am

I have the pleasure to introduce a sample set of St. Maria in Campagna organ, Piacenza, Italy. The organ was built by Serassi brothers under the supervision of the famous virtuoso Padre Davide who was the organist of the church. It is one of the finest examples of this special organ style. The organ was built between 1825-1838.

The original instrument consists of 2 manuals and a pedal, alltogether 57 sounding stops. In addition to the usual Italian Pleno and the necessary orchestral and solo registers, Padre Davide wanted to include a unique special effect: the bells. These are real bells (an octave) which can be played in different ways, in the manuals or with the pedal.

The sample set can be used in Hauptwerk version 4.2 and higher, the Advanced version is necessary due to the size of the virtual instrument. It is available in a surround (6-channels) format. The front-direct channels can be used alone to form a semi-dry variant of the sample set, especially when releases truncated in Hauptwerk.

The sample set is offered encrypted, protected by the Hauptwerk dongle.

More details, including the specification and audio demo samples of the instrument may be found on the Sonus Paradisi web pages.

The demo sample set is for free download from the Sonus Paradisi web.

Thank you for this new release, very nice and realistic sounds.

Listening to the the audio demos on the SP site, I wonder :
Where can I find or Giovanni Quirici or Padre Davide da Bergamo scores ?

I found the score for the first demo from a book of seven pieces that you can download at http://imslp.org. Just browse the composers and you'll find it. You'll find some of the Padre Davide scores there as well.
