New Hauptwerk Instruments in 2019

PostSat Jan 05, 2019 12:32 pm

So, does anyone here aware of either any speculation or actual information on new Hauptwerk instruments being developed and/or released in 2019? Or long-awaited updates to existing instruments (such as the Mt. Carmel Skinner)?

The Stahlhuth of Aachen is mentioned on the Augustine's Virtual Organs website.
http://hauptwerk-augustine.info/Original-sample-sets/
And they are yet some demos in Contrebombarde. I could test the beta surround version and it is great. Only some days to wait.
Also Sygsoft is preparing a splendid modern organ, very french styled. It will be soon. Listen the demos in Contrebombarde.

The Walcker-Eule Annaberg-Buchholz from OAM should be out soon.

Hello together,

I am a new Hauptwerk user, but I was already following the discussions and here is, what I am waiting for (not sure if every sample will be produced or be published in 2019):
- the upcoming concert hall organ from Voxus
- the Furtwängler organ from Pipeloops
- the Walcker from OAM (as mentioned above)
- perhaps the great Riepp from Ottobeuren (the small one sounds so well, I hope the big one will be published too)
- perhaps the Wiegleb organ from Prospectum (it looks like they copied a photo from Wiegleb, which could be promising) https://www.an-klang.info/orgeln/wiegle ... gumbertus/

and now some wishes (nothing confirmed), only seeking for:
- an early romantic german organ (like E.F.Walcker (e.g. Schramberg, Neuhausen etc))
- besides the CC from Caen another french symphonic organ builder like the Puget organ in Toulouse
- not so humble wishes like Walcker in Riga, Holzhey in Neresheim ( I am dreaming now)

So far my list for 2019

The Furtwängler is on hold until final permsission is granted from the church.
The Prospectum web site has been in the process of being rebuilt for a long time and I suspect that image is just a place holder pic.
Do you know more about the Vocus instrument?

You may be right about Prospectum, but I remembered a post where they wrote:
Since we have more than 150 ranks of organ samples waiting to be turned into virtual organs (including a spectacular III+P/48 baroque organ!), viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14819&p=110406#p110406
Well, the Wiegleb has III/47, but it could depending on the kind of counting the stops...
It's a kind of speculation, but it would be a marvellous instrument!

We are busy to develop a sampleset of the 1927 Adema organ @ the Basiliek H. Kruisverheffing in Raalte (Holland). It's a Dutch romantic organ (IIIP/43). Some soundexamples of the first stops are available on our Virtual Pipes Facebook website: https://www.facebook.com/virtualorgans/. This set will not released before December 2019.

I'm in development of a 1954 Steinmeyer concert hall organ (III/55). Release is planned at the end of the year. You can hear two soundfiles on http://www.facebook.com/forestpipesvirtualorgans

A version of the Milan Skinner would be marvellous - however I have given up hope after many years of no further news. I sense something is going on behind the scenes and it is not clear what this means for the future of HW.

Voxus is also coming out with the Van Deventer organ of Naarden.

And they are working on a concert hall organ as well.

I so hope for the Furtwangler, as that one sounds really good. Let us all affirm with positive energy that it is indeed coming soon!!! :D

I am not sure what Gernot Wurst is doing these days. Time for an email to him.

Also, don't forget Piotr Graboswky; he may have a new organ coming out, but he is switching to a paid system, yet low prices.

On May 31, 2017, Martin wrote me:

Hello Adri,

I'm working very hard indeed on Hauptwerk v5 development, but developing any major new version is a very, very large amount of work (several man-years), and it's only been a little over a year since the last Hauptwerk v4.2.1 release. I have to fit development work in around providing support (which itself takes the larger part of my working time, especially as the user base grows), and at this stage we don't yet have any additional developers, or dedicated staff to help with technical support, so unfortunately developing a major project does inevitably take a long time. I would very much hope that v5 will be ready within the next 12 months, but I can't promise -- it depends on the amount of time that I need to spend on technical support.

Sorry I can't make it happen faster, but it will be ready eventually, and I think and hope people will find it to have been very worth the wait. In the longer term, hopefully we will be able to have additional manpower so that things can start happening faster.

All the best,
Martin Dyde
Designer/developer, Milan Digital Audio

Apparently, he now has indeed gone into reclusion to work on the next software improvement. Let's be hopeful for it coming out sooner rather than later.
