But it is also an old recording (2012), with microphones that nobody would dare to use now for this kind of work, in very dry stereo, without the slightest reverberation and in the middle of traffic noise. Augustine did what he could with this thankless material. The technique and the knowledge of the sample sets suppliers has improved considerably since then. If as MHPO envisages, a new recording of this organ is done, in better conditions, the sample set version 2.0 will certainly be less flat and more airy.

I also read all the unedifying discussion between Maltese and Augustine .. but this is another story. yes, it's true, it's flat and it's an old sampling, the result is not optimal, but it's free. the fact that it is free raises it from any criticism: do you like it? then use it. you do not like it? do not use it. On the other hand, there is a commercial sample set which, in addition to meeting certain quality requirements, must be ready to receive praise and, unfortunately, criticism, both obviously with due sense
